Old Appalachian Pride and New School Efficiency

Efficient Houses, Cabins, Renovations, Additions,
Saunas, Pavilions, Boardwalks and  Stairways to Special Places

In the spirit of "Katuah," the Cherokee name for the southern Appalachians, we strive to build with a sense of place and proportion to the remaining ecosystems in this (Bio)region. We try to build in proportion to the extent of your property and the surrounding natural habitats and flow of the land. We seek to design structures using materials that reflect the beauty and sustainability of the land and water, by incorporating the four directions and seasons in building layout and interior design. We have a recycling yard where we make materials (wood scraps, paint, old doors, windows, etc.) available for reuse and recycling to thrifty people in the region (usually our fellow carpenters and their families!). Above all, we work directly with the owners to help them realize their vision, hopefully beyond their expectations. You deal directly with the people building for you. We will be there for you because we believe in what we build.
